Meet Lynn

PortraitHello. My name is Lynn Sebourn and I want to be your next State Senator.

It has been my privilege to live in our district for 18 years.  Shortly after moving here I met my wife Teresa. Teresa is a 3rd grade elementary teacher at the Bel-Aire school in Tullahoma. We have 3 children, Lyndsey, Jared and Hope. Like you, I want to secure a great future for my family in southern middle Tennessee.

I first came to Tennessee to further my education at the University of Tennessee Space Institute. My experience there led to employment at the Arnold Engineering Development Center.  For the last fifteen and a half years, it has been my great honor to work in facility analysis at one of our nation’s greatest research and development centers in support of our armed forces.

Like most of you, I come from a rural background.  I grew up on small farms in southeast Missouri at the edge of the Ozarks. I chopped cotton, picked watermelons, and drove tractors as my parents instilled in me their Show-Me work ethic. Some say I also picked up a little of the “Show-Me” stubbornness along the way.

All of my life I have been proud to be an American and proud of our democratic process. I cast my first presidential vote for Ronald Reagan and I have supported his common sense conservative values ever since. I believe in a strong defense, fiscal responsibility and traditional values.

I believe that our freedoms impose a responsibility on us to be active involved citizens.  Currently I am serving on the Tullahoma Municipal Planning Commission. Over the years I have been an officer in the Coffee County Young Republicans and the Franklin County Republican Party. I have been an officer for several years in the Franklin County chapter of Right to Life. I have coached kid’s soccer and have been a regular performer and writer for the annual South Jackson Goes Country fundraiser for the South Jackson Civic Center.

As I talk to citizens in our great district I sense that many of you have become sick and tired of politics in Tennessee. It is easy to understand why with all of the public scandals we have witnessed recently. But the answer is not to give up. The answer is to elect leaders of principle and demand accountability.

The future for our families and our state will always be full of challenges. We live in a fast paced world of constant change. But our core principles such as integrity and putting our families first, should not change. As an engineer, it is my job to solve problems everyday.  I know that we can find solutions to our problems while remaining true to our Tennessee values.

I thank you for taking time to visit my website and I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail,

Sig
